Links and such about Charlotte v. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

I thought it would be nice to have a few links to the Wilkes-Barre blogs, newspapers, and some of the articles I’ve found already on the series.  I plan to update this as the series goes on!

WBS Penguins Blogs/Links/Etc.:

  • Chirps from Center Ice – Best blog I’ve found on the WBS Pens.  The writer knows his stuff, and it’s always a good read!  (You can follow him on twitter, too @nafsnep )
  • WilkesBlog – A sub-blog within the PensBlog, they tend to take a less serious approach, but it’s amusing anyway.  Some of the writers there want to see Pogge in net… I think it’s cause they think he’s nuts.
  • Citizens Voice – Penguins Insider – Jonathan Bombulie, the WBS beat writer’s take on the Baby Pens.  (Maybe one day Charlotte will have it’s own beat writer… Bombulie has been covering the Pens since 1999.  Impressive!)  Lots of good insight and game previews here!
  • Citizens Voice – Penguins Coverage – Same beat writer, but news coverage vs. “blog” coverage
  • WBS Playoff Blog – Official team run, but some decent stuff.
News Articles of Note:
  • I loved this article about the Checkers fourth line.  “I think our team is so talented it’s amazing,” Charlotte winger Oskar Osala told the Harrisburg Patriot News. “I think this could be one of the teams that you’re looking back and saying, ‘Oh, they had that guy, they had that guy.’ Nobody’s really made a big name of themselves yet. I can say there’s 15 guys that could become a big player in the NHL one day. I think we have a great chance against anybody.”
